Martin County, FL. – October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. With that in mind, the Martin County Board of Commissioners recognized local workers from the ARC of Martin County’s Advanced Employment Services Program, also known as AES, for their contributions to the local workforce. The ARC of Martin County’s AES provides a pathway to employment for adults with developmental disabilities. Men and women from 18 to 64 years of age who have a disability can build on their strengths while exploring new employment interests and skills in a variety of industries.
A number of community partners provide employment support and training. ARC of Martin County is grateful to those partners for their practice of inclusive policies that cultivate a diverse workforce on the Treasure Coast. Some of the excited workers involved with AES met the commissioners on October 18th, 2022, when the board proclaimed it National Disability Employment Month in Martin County. Thanks to everyone involved for showing these individuals with disabilities that they are valued and dignified members of our community.
